BUG

When repairing a data source using Set Data Source on a raster catalog, only raster datasets display

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Description

When dragging a raster in a raster catalog from ArcCatalog to ArcMap, if the data source is broken and must be repaired, only raster datasets are seen in the Repair Data Source dialog box. This also happens with any layer files that have been created from that raster dataset.

Cause

When the raster is dragged from the ArcCatalog to ArcMap, ArcMap reads this as a raster dataset, instead of a raster stored in a Raster Catalog.

Workaround

Instead of dragging and dropping the raster from the Raster Catalog into ArcMap, use Add Data to add the entire Raster Catalog and apply a Definition Query to display only the desired rasters.
