Error Message

When creating CAB files with the 'Get Data For ArcPad' wizard, the following error occurs in ArcPad 8.0 Service Pack 1 (SP1):

"C:\Program Files\ArcPad 8.0\Desktop Tools\cabhead
This application has failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem."

Note:
This same error may occur with the following path: C:\Program Files\ArcPad 8.0\Desktop Tools\CABHEAD.exe

Cause

This is a known issue, since the Microsoft C++ RunTime was removed from ArcPad 8.0 SP1.

Solution or Workaround

Note:
The Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x86) should be included in Windows XP SP3.
