ArcPad runs in evaluation mode if the user has not been granted Administrator rights.
Due to a software defect with ArcPad 8.0 installation, ArcPad runs in evaluation mode and times out after 20 minutes if the user does not have Administrator rights.
If a non-administrative user starts ArcPad 8.0, they are prompted to enter the ArcPad 8.0 registration code. ArcPad still loads in the evaluation mode, even after the user enters the correct registration code.
Even in cases where ArcPad 8.0 has been installed by a user with Administrator rights, when launching ArcPad 8.0, the user will again be prompted to enter the ArcPad 8.0 registration code.
The current workaround is to provide 'Full Control' permissions to individual ArcPad user(s) in the Registry Editor.
This step must be performed by a user with Administrator permissions.
