How To: Mount the ArcSDE component DVD or CD on an HP operating system

Instructions provided describe how to mount a drive on a server with an HP OS. Mounting a CD or DVD drive on an HP operating system (OS) server can be slightly different than mounting a drive on other UNIX platforms.

To mount CDs on a CD reader only, execute a command similar to the following:

  mount -F cdfs /dev/dsk/c1t2d0 /cdrom

To mount DVDs or CDs on a DVD drive, perform the following steps:
  1. Log in to the server as the root user.

      sde on emu:/emu1/sde >su – root

  2. Look for the DVD drive name.

    # ioscan -fn -C disk | more
