Error 000732 Input Address Locator: Dataset\GIS Servers\arcgis on tasks.arcgisonline.comlocators\Locators\ .GeocodeServer does not exist

Error Message

When using one of the ArcGIS Online address locator tasks in the Geocode Addresses tool in ArcToolbox, the following error is returned:

Error 000732
Input Address Locator: Dataset\GIS Servers\arcgis on tasks.arcgisonline.comlocators\Locators\<locator name>.GeocodeServer does not exist or is not supported.

Cause

The Geocode Addresses tool does not recognize composite locators being served with ArcGIS Server.

Solution or Workaround

1. Rename the ArcGIS Server connection under GIS Servers to "arcgisonline" in ArcCatalog.
   
   A. Right-click the ArcGIS Server connection.
   B. Click Rename.
2. If applicable, rename the corresponding connection file under %USERPROFILE%\Application Data\ESRI\ArcCatalog to "arcgisonline.ags".
