Search or query task does not work after updating the map service's resource map document

Description

After the source map document has been modified, the Search Attributes or Query Attributes task in a .NET Web Mapping Application returns the following error:

"(No results found) Your search produced no matching results. Check your spelling or try different words".

Cause

This is a known limitation of the Search Attributes and Query Attributes tasks.

When a standard .NET ADF application is generated, the manager uses the layer indexes in the MXD for the search task and query task. If later that layer index changes, the search and query tasks do not work anymore.
