The following error message is returned when using the Net Search Extender against an ArcSDE 9.2 geodatabase for DB2 Release 9.5 (DB2 9.5) on a Windows platform:
"Error executing db2text command. Ensure text extender is properly installed."
When using the Net Search Extender to create a text index on tables in DB2 on Windows operating systems, ArcSDE 9.2 attempts to create an output file to the location specified in the DB2PATH environment variable.
Beginning with DB2 9.5, the DB2 folder has changed locations. In DB2 9.5, the DB2 folder is in \Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\IBM. The failure occurs because the ArcSDE stored procedure (sde_txtidx_cmd) cannot find the folder to which it is attempting to write the output file.
Upgrade to ArcSDE 9.3. ArcSDE 9.3 does not rely on the DB2PATH location.
