Error Message

When importing schema changes using replication, the following message may display:

"No schema changes found for this replica pair."

Cause

There are two possible causes for this message:

• There are no schema differences to be applied, or

• The schema changes .xml file has been imported into the wrong geodatabase

Solution or Workaround

Instructions provided show the steps to import schema changes using replication.

Create a replica between Geodatabase1 (GDB1) and Geodatabase2 (GDB2). The schema change is made in GDB1.

In a connected environment

1. After a schema change has been made in GDB1, connect to the relative replica geodatabase (e.g., GDB2).

2. Click the Compare Replica Schema tool in the Distributed Geodatabase toolset. ArcToolbox > Data Management Tools > Distributed Geodatabase.

3. Select the spatial connection to point to GDB1.

4. Select the replica name from the drop-down list.

5. Browse to a physical drive location where the output schema changes .xml file is created.

6. Click Finish.

7. Click the Import Replica Schema tool in the Distributed Geodatabase toolset.

8. Browse to the location where the schema changes .xml file (created as a result of step 5) resides.

9. Click Next.

10. Confirm that schema changes that are listed have the checkbox selected.

11. Click Finish.
