Problem: Empty values are returned in query results when using a join table from an Access database
When using a Microsoft Access table as a join table, the values from the join table return empty in query results. Also, using field names that begin with a number can cause this behavior.
The use of special characters such as as a number sign (#), a period (.), or a quotation mark (") in the field name can lead to this behavior. Using field names that begin with a number can also cause this behavior.
Solution or Workaround
Follow the steps below:
- Open the Access database table and rename any fields that contain special characters (see link in Related Information below for additional information).
- Verify that the changes to fields names are reflected in the ArcMap document.
- Refresh the service for the changes to become effective.
