PROBLEM

Unable to view TIN in 3D display

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Description

Triangulated irregular network (TIN) datasets may not display when viewed through ArcScene or ArcCatalog's 3D Preview in a dual-monitor environment where the monitor on the left is not specified as the primary monitor.

Cause

This behavior is specific to certain graphics cards and is caused by a problem with the graphics card driver. Computers that have an ATI Sapphire Radeon 9600 Atlantis graphics card, with driver version 8.432.0.0, have been observed to exhibit this issue, but others may also cause this problem.

Solution or Workaround

To resolve this issue, set the primary display to be the monitor on the left.

  1. Access the Control Panel, double-click Display, or right-click the desktop, and select Properties.
  2. Select the Settings tab.
    [O-Image]
  3. Right-click the monitor on the left and select the option for 'Primary' in the drop-down list.
  4. Click the 'OK' button to accept the changes.
