ArcPad opens with empty ArcPad window with cancel error window

Description

On some occasions, ArcPad opens with an empty ArcPad error window containing a Cancel symbol.

Cause

This is caused by multiple instances of the ArcPadPrefs.apx file saved to the mobile device.

Solution or Workaround

Delete all instances of ArcPadPrefs.apx file found on mobile unit; restart ArcPad application.
