PROBLEM

Cannot find JNDI configuration files

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Description

Section 4-3 of the GPT 3.1 Installation Guide involves configuring Tomcat for Java Naming and Directory Interface (JNDI), and references sample configuration files, which must be copied to the Tomcat/conf/Catalina/localhost directory. These files may be missing from the GPT 3.1 CD.

Cause

Since releasing GPT 3.1, the method in which JNDI was configured in Tomcat for use by the GPT has changed. GPT 3.1 was released with files supporting the 'old method' of JNDI definition, whereas the installation guide now references the 'new method'.

Because of this change, users may be missing the sample JNDI configuration files mentioned in section 4-3 of the GPT 3.1 Installation Guide. A log-in is required to access this guide.

Solution or Workaround

The necessary files are now available for download on the GPT support page: Sample and Utilities Download.

  1. Navigate to the Samples and Utilities Download page for the GPT.
  2. Save and extract the .zip file to a temporary location on your machine.
  3. Continue with the installation as outlined in Section 4-3 of the GPT 3.1 Installation Guide.
