Invalid Raster Dataset

Error Message

When adding a BMP, GIF, JPEG, JPEG2000, MrSID, PNG, BIL, BIP, BSQ, ADRG, CADRG, PIX, BSB, DEM, XPM, or ERS image to ArcMap or ArcCatalog, the following error message is displayed:

"Invalid Raster Dataset"

Cause

Feature Analyst 4.1.0.23 or another image software is installed and is conflicting with the GdalRasterDB.dll.

Note:
Feature Analyst 4.1.0.30 is fully compatible with ArcGIS.

Solution or Workaround

1. Uninstall Feature Analyst 4.1.0.23 as it is not compatible with ArcGIS 9.2.
2. Run a repair of the ArcGIS Desktop install by navigating to Start > Settings > Control Panel and select Add/Remove Programs. Highlight ArcGIS Desktop and click Change. In the installation wizard, select the option to 'Repair'. It may be necessary to use the installation discs to run this repair.
3. If feature Analyst 4.1.0.23 is not installed, re-register the GdalRasterDB.dll:
   
   A. Navigate to Start > Run.
   
   B. Type in the following:

   regsvr32 "C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\Bin\GdalRasterDB.dll"

   
   C. Click OK.
