Error: The specified files is for a different license server. The license file contains license information for the key 37114976
When running the Update License tool, the following error message is displayed:
"Update License Installation
The specified files is for a different license server. The license file contains license information for the key 37114976. This host's hardware key is 37114977."
Where 37114976 is the ESRI Sentinel Key listed in the license file, but the number on the sentinel/hardware key installed on the computer is 37114977.
The wrong sentinel or hardware key is installed or a new license file is required to match the existing hardware key or to replace a corrupt license file.
Solution or Workaround
- Replace the hardware key with key whose number matches that of the license file and then run the Update License tool again.
- Request a new license file that matches the hardware key installed from http://service.esri.com. See the link in the Related Information section for help requesting a license file.
