Bug: Layer Properties dialog box Source tab for an XY event layer that needs repairing does not show path name
When data source paths for a map document are lost, XY event layers do not store the full path to the reference table.
This is a known limitation affecting XY event layers created through the 'Display XY Data' command available by right-clicking any table in the table of contents.
Consider using the Make XY Event Layer tool to create a layer that retains the path to the originating table if that source is no longer accessible.
The Make XY Event Layer tool is available in ArcToolbox > Data Management Tools > Layers and Table Views toolset.
