Problem: sdemon -o info -I users does not report current connections
The command 'sdemon -o info -I users' does not show any connections when users are connected to ArcSDE.
This problem is specific to SQL Server 2005 and is caused by not assigning the SDE user the 'VIEW SERVER STATE' permission.
- Open SQL Server Management Studio and select the SQL Server instance.
- Right-click the instance and select Properties.
- On the left, select 'Permissions' and scroll to and select 'SDE' user on the right.
- Under 'Explicit Permissions for SDE:', scroll to the bottom and click the Grant checkbox for 'View server state.'
- Click OK.
