During the registration process for ArcView or ArcEditor Single Use, the following error message is displayed:
"Failed to connect to registration server."
This happens because the computer has a firewall enabled, or does not have a network connection to the Internet.
Verify the computer has a TCP/IP Internet connection and that any firewalls are disabled.
If a connection to the Internet can not be established and/or the firewall disabled, obtain a single use authorization file.
Note:
If Windows XP Service Pack 2 is installed, disable the Internet Connection Firewall. See the link in the Related Information section below for a Microsoft TechNet article on this procedure.
