Overlapped I/O operation in progress error occurs when installing only the SOC
Description
Note:
This issue is addressed with ArcGIS 9.1 Service Pack 2 (SP2).
When installing only the SOC (server object container) on a machine (not the server object manager, SOM), the post install shows the following error message:
"Overlapped I/O operation in progress error"
While this does not actually cause the installation to fail, and proceeding with the installation caused no problems, it appears as such. This not fixed by trying to start the SOM when it doesn’t exist.
Cause
This is a known issue.

This issue is addressed with ArcGIS 9.1 Service Pack 2 (SP2).
