When publishing a map document that contains maplex labeling, the following error message occurs:

"One or more layers in the map do not support publishing. These layers were removed from the published map. Use the Map Summary dialog to determine which layers do not support publishing."

Cause

ArcReader Publisher does not support Maplex labeling. When viewed in ArcReader, Publisher does not have the Maplex extension available and cannot label the features.

Solution or Workaround

Turn off Maplex before publishing the map.
