Frequently asked question

In ArcPad 7.0, why does the map change to different scales when redrawing?

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Answer

While customizing ArcPad 7.0 using the Automatic Map Rotation tool in Application Builder, ArcPad redraws the map changing scale with each redraw while a user is walking or riding in a car.

This is how the tool was designed.

If the map displayed in the ArcPad map window is automatically rotated by enabling the Automatic Map Rotation tool, the data extent changes. This renders areas of no data as white space in the ArcPad map window. ArcPad removes white space by adjusting the map based on available data. By doing so, the scale of the map is revised.
