The Java Custom Viewer hangs after panning and zooming several times. The main map will load initially, and can be panned and zoomed into once without problem.
However, after subsequent pan/zoom requests, the browser hangs. The browser can only be closed from Task Manager. This behavior occurs after an upgrade to ArcIMS 9.1.
This may be related to an issue with the version of Java 2 Runtime Environment (J2RE or J2SDK) installed on the client machine, and happens specifically with Java versions 1.4.2_xx.
Remove all Java versions from the client machine and then install a previous version of the Java Runtime Environment on the client machine, for example, JRE/JDK 1.4.0 or 1.4.2.
Ensure that only one version of JRE/JDK is installed on the client machine.
