Description

16-bit rasters render incorrectly in ArcIMS.

They appear much darker than the original image, almost black in color.

Cause

This is a known issue.

Workaround

Follow the steps below.

Convert the image to 8-bit.

Use the 16-bit image by way of the ArcIMS ArcMap Server.
