Error: -134: THE GIVEN SHAPE OBJECT HANDLE IS INVALID
** This issue is addressed in ArcSDE 9.0 Service Pack 2 (SP2) **
When using the 9.0 final version of the ArcSDE Java API to update a feature class that supports CAD data, the feature updated becomes corrupted. Subsequently, the entire feature class will be inaccessible from ArcGIS Desktop. Any attempt to read the updated feature, using the ArcSDE Java API, will return the error:
"-134: THE GIVEN SHAPE OBJECT HANDLE IS INVALID"

If CAD data type support is not required, disable CAD data type support when creating the feature class through the ArcSDE C or Java API. To create a feature class without CAD data type support, invoke the ArcSDE Java API SeLayer.setCAD(false) method when creating the feature class.
All feature classes created via ArcGIS desktop applications have CAD data type support, so the workaround is not applicable to feature classes created through that process.
