Java ADF Buffer Template fails when using a map that only has image data sources

Description

ArcGIS Server Java ADF Buffer Template fails with an exception if the server object only has images as its data source. This failure of the Buffer Template also applies to server objects that only have WMS layers as their data source.

Cause

The Buffer Template fails because the application's dropdown lists are unable to populate field values for image data sources.

Workaround

When using an image only data source, there is no known workaround to this problem.
