Topology Wizard unable to select polygon feature class

Description

When creating a new Topology, the wizard is unable to select a polygon feature class to participate in the new topology.

Cause

The polygon feature class previously participated in another topology that has been deleted.

Topology feature classes are typically registered as versioned for editing purposes. Although the topology was deleted, these feature classes are still registered as versioned, making them unavailable to participate in another topology.

Solution or Workaround

1. Paste the participating feature classes in the same data set.
2. Delete the original feature classes.
3. Rename the copies to their original names. This step is optional.
4. Create new Topology and select polygon feature classes.
