Exporting to coverage converts dates to 12/31/1899

Description

Values in date fields are converted to 12/31/1899 when exporting a shapefile or geodatabase feature class to a coverage.

Cause

This is a known issue.

Workaround

Note:
If the data is a geodatabase feature class use ArcCatalog to export the data to a shapefile first.

1. Start ArcInfo Workstation.
2. Navigate to the workspace that contains the shapefile using the WORKSPACE command.
3. Use the SHAPEARC command to convert the shapefile to a coverage.
