Labeling using "One_label_per_part" is not recognized by multipart point data

Description

When using a label renderer in ArcIMS, the howmanylabels attribute value "one_label_per_part" is not recognized when using multipart point data. Only the first point in a multipoint shape is labeled.

Cause

The ArcIMS spatial server cannot label all parts (points) of a multipart point.

Workaround

• Convert the original multipart point data into individual points.
• Create a multipart line or polygon dataset from the multipart point data; for example, use the extent of individual features, thus creating rectangle polygons. Then use the new multipart line or polygon dataset to label the original layer.
• Use ArcMap Server.
