Problem: Incorrect Initial Extent Displays When StreetMap Layer is Opened via Open ArcPad

Description

When adding a StreetMap layer via the Open ArcPad Map dialog box, the extent of the layer displayed is incorrect.

Cause

The Open ArcPad Map dialog box, which is accessed via the Open Map command, is only intended to open ArcPad Map documents (*.apm) or layer formats supported by ArcPad out of the box.

Solution or Workaround

If the StreetMap layer is saved in an ArcMap Map document, open that document via the Open ArcPad Map dialog box. This will load the StreetMap layer as well as any other layers and settings stored with the map.

To add the StreetMap layer to a blank or existing map, use the Add Layer command.
