Error: 1004: Invalid username
When you send a SOAP request with an ESRI Global account user name, the following error may occur:
1004: Invalid username
The user sent the user name in a SOAP request with different capitalization than was used to create the ESRI Global username. SOAP services are case sensitive.
Solution or Workaround
Verify the exact spelling of the user name through My Account on the ArcWeb site.
- Open the ArcWeb site.
- Click Log In in the upper right hand corner of the Web site.
- Enter the user name and password, click the Edit my account checkbox, and click Log In.
- The Update the ESRI Global Account page opens. Visually verify the capitalization of the user name.
