Error Message

Geocoding using a Microsoft Access database table as the address table results in the following error:

"There was an error trying to process this table.
General function failure [table name]
Syntax error (missing operator) in query expression 'field name'."

Cause

The address table contains a field or fields that either begin with a number, contains a space, or contains the '&' or '^' symbols.

Solution or Workaround

Edit the table using Microsoft Access to remove the number, space, or odd character in the field name.
