Running a local license manager on a laptop that also has a port replicator, may result in a -15
"Cannot connect to license manager", or similar error message relating to the resolution of the hostname.
The laptop may be using its built-in network interface card (NIC) to connect to the network, and to connect to the port replicator when docked. The laptop's hostname may be associated with two different IP addresses. This can cause the license manager to crash unexpectedly or fail to connect.
Set the license manager to 127.0.0.1 instead of the hostname of the machine. This is the loopback/localhost address; this setting guarantees that the license will always be resolved at the local machine.
