Unable to communicate with database

Error Message

Performing a RESTORE in SchemaEdit fails with the message

"Unable to communicate with <database>"

Note:
<database> is the database name being restored.

Cause

There is not enough free disk space to complete the RESTORE process.

Solution or Workaround

• Free additional disk space.
• Specify only a date to restore the database to, not a date and time.
• Restore one layer at a time rather than an entire library at once.
