Decrease connection time for SDE 3.0.1

Summary

Connecting to an SDE 3.0.1 server can be delayed because of the time associated with checking out the FLEXlm license. Alter the LICENSE_SERVER registry setting to improve connection time.

1. Open regedit.
   1. Click Start > Run.
   2. Type 'REGEDIT' or 'regedit' and press Enter.
2. Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE > SOFTWARE >ESRI > SDE > SDE Version 3.0.1 for Oracle/Sqlserver > instance > LICENSE_SERVER.
3. Modify the registry key to include the port number specified in the SDE license file:

   @<licensehostname>

   to

   27005@<licensehostname>

   Note:
   27005 is the default port number assigned in the license file.
