CONNECT on Solaris to Oracle 8i fails with ld.so.1: /esri/arcexe81/bin/dbi_oracle: fatal: libjava.so: open failed

Error Message

When connecting to Oracle 8i from ArcInfo Workstation version 8.1.2 on Solaris, the following error occurs:

No such file or directory

Cause

The $ARCHOME/bin/dbi_oracle executable needs to link against the Oracle LIBJAVA.SO library when connecting.
