Why is the ASCII file output from Grid SAMPLE function tab delimited, and not space delimited as is documented?

Answer

The documentation is erroneous. The ASCII file generated by the SAMPLE() function is tab delimited and not space delimited.

The documentation was corrected for ArcGIS 8.2.
