Frequently asked question

Why is the 'Snapping Complex Features' step listed during building a geometric network, if I only specified that simple feature classes could snap?

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Answer

When snapping is enabled during the building of a geometric network, using the Geometric Network wizard, both the 'Snapping to end points' and 'Snapping to complex features' stages must be processed. This is required because during the first phase of snapping, only the end points of edges are considered. Since simple features can snap to mid-span vertices of complex edge features, the second stage must also be completed.
