Winpress.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows

Error Message

This error occurs when trying to print with ArcPress 2.0 for ArcView 3.x:

"Winpress.exe has generated errors and will be closed by Windows.
An error log is being created."

Cause

One of the path names related to the print job contains space characters.

Solution or Workaround

• Check the TEMP, TMP, and APRESSTMPDIR variables to ensure they don't point to a path name with space characters. If they do, change them to a path without space characters.
  
  For help with setting a system environment variable, see: How To: Edit an environment variable.
   
• Check the directory in which ArcView and ArcPress are installed. Ensure its path name does not contain space characters.
   

  Note:
  If space characters are present, reinstall the software to paths without space characters.
