Why doesn't the Esc key immediately stop ArcIMS layers from drawing?

Answer

The Esc key usually lets you stop or cancel processes such as drawing and searching. During slow network connections, the Esc key does not cancel processes when ArcGIS is sending a request to an ArcIMS server, or when the service is being drawn.
