Failed to add the rule to the geometric network

Error Message

Attempting to set the default junction of an Edge-Junction connectivity rule in a geometric network produces this error:

"Failed to add the rule to the geometric network. Default junctions not supported in this release of the Geodatabase."

Cause

The geodatabase version is pre-ArcGIS 8.1.

Enhancements were made to Connectivity rules and Geometric Networks in ArcGIS 8.1, which require upgrading the geodatabase. For a list and a detailed description of the enhancements, consult the online help.
