Frequently asked question

What are the purposes of the geocoding style rule base files?

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Answer

Geocoding services and Address Locator services are available in many ESRI products. A large part of the geocoding 'engine' is a set of files called the 'Geocoding Rule Base'. Documentation, which explains the design of this geocoding engine as well as instructions and utilities for modifying this engine, can be found in the Geocoding Development Kit. Download as per instructions.
