PROBLEM

Using ESC to cancel TIN drawing has no effect if dataset has no breaklines

Last Published: April 25, 2020

Description

This problem is addressed in ArcGIS 8.1 Service Pack 1. See Related Information section to download this pack.

In ArcMap, when drawing a TIN layer that uses default symbology, if you press Esc to halt the drawing, you'll find the triangles stop but control is not returned to you for some time. This occurs for TINs that have no breaklines.

Cause

This is a known issue.

Solution or Workaround

Turn off the TIN layer's edge renderer from the Symbology tab of the layer Properties dialog box.
