Web site folder is created, but empty

Description

When running ArcIMS Designer outside of ArcIMS Manager or launching the shortcut in the ArcIMS Administrator menu, the Web site folder gets created, but it is empty.

Cause

For ArcIMS 4.0.1, this occurs if the check box 'Use the system JRE for Author, Designer and Administrator' in the Post Installation option, 'ArcIMS JRE configuration' is checked.

Solution or Workaround

• Verify there is adequate disk space available in the location the Web site directory is being created.
• For ArcIMS 3.1 and ArcIMS 4.0:
  
  Check the shortcut properties being used to launch ArcIMS Designer. Set the properties for 'Target' and 'Start in' as:
  
  Target = "C:\Program Files\JavaSoft\JRE\1.3\bin\javaw.exe" -Xms24m -Xmx256m com.esri.aims.designer.Designer
  (double quotes are included)
  
  Start in = "C:\Program Files\ESRI\ArcIMS3.1\Manager\Designer" (double quotes are included)
  
  

  Note:
  The pathnames will vary depending upon where ArcIMS and JRE are installed.

  
  
• For ArcIMS 4.0.1:
  
  Check the shortcut properties being used to launch ArcIMS Designer.

  Set the Target value to the following:
  
  For ArcIMS Designer:
  
  Target = "C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\ArcIMS\Jre\j2re1.4.0\bin\javaw.exe" -Xms24m -Xmx256m com.esri.aims.designer.Designer
  (double quotes are included)
  
  For ArcIMS Administrator:
  
  Target = "C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\ArcIMS\Jre\j2re1.4.0\bin\javaw.exe" -Xms24m -Xmx256m com.esri.aims.admin.console.AdminMain
  (double quotes are included)
  
  

  Note:
  The JRE path in the Target variable will differ if the system JRE is used for the Manager applications during the 'ArcIMS JRE Configuration' step of the ArcIMS Post Installation process. 

  
  For both ArcIMS Administrator and ArcIMS Designer, set the 'Start in' value as the following; note the backslash at the end:
  
  Start in = "C:\Program Files\ArcGIS\ArcIMS\Manager\Designer\"
