IGeometry::GeoNormalizeFromLongitude hangs when used on a geometry that has no spatial reference or a spatial reference that is an unknown coordinate system.
This is a known issue.
To avoid this problem, before using the IGeometry::GeoNormalizeFromLongitude method, see if your geometry has a spatial reference that is either a geographic or projected coordinate system. This method can only be used on a geometry with a spatial reference that is either a geographic or projected coordinate system.
This method is used internally as part of the projection process for polygons and polylines. It is typically not used by itself, and so would almost never be used by third-party developers, they would use the project method instead.
