ACCESS server encountered a segment violation

Error Message

This error occurs when running DBMSEXECUTE or DBMSCURSOR on an Access table:

"ACCESS server encountered a segment violation"

Cause

The Access table contains column types that ArcInfo cannot interpret, such as Memo, OLE Object, and Hyperlink.

Solution or Workaround

• Remove the offending fields from the table you are querying.
• Create a query that doesn't include these fields.
