Error (-9):Couldn't Start Server Task

Error Message

When sending a job to the Geoprocessing Server from ArcToolBox, an error occurs and the following message is written into the $ARCHOME/gpserver/etc/rqmgr.log file:

"Error (-9):Couldn't Start Server Task"

Cause

In order to connect to a remote processor ArcToolbox needs the username and password for the server. If the network password is changed, once the connection has been defined, sending a job to this connection will cause the error.

Solution or Workaround

1. Delete the connection in ArcToolbox.
2. Create a connection with the new password.
