Problem: Empty Display Hardware Key Status


When running User Diagnostics in ArcGIS 8.1, the portion allocated for Display Hardware Key Status is blank.

Solution or Workaround

Verify the status of the key with other available methods.

  • Click Start > Programs > ArcGIS > License Manager > Display Hardware Key Status.
  • Open a Command Prompt window.

    A. Click Start > Run > type cmd.
    B. Click OK.

  • Type the following:

    C:\>cd Program Files\ESRI\License
    C:\Program Files\ESRI\License> esrihostid.exe
