Inserted EMF files created in Macromedia Freehand do not print or export to PostScript or ArcPress

Description

An EMF file created in Freehand and inserted as a picture will not print using the 8.x or 9.x PostScript printer engine or the 8.x ArcPress printer engine.

The same file will not export to EPS or any of the 8.x ArcPress formats. Exporting to PDF is not affected.

Cause

This is caused by an incompatibility with EMF files created in Freehand.

Workaround

• Use the Windows printer engine to print the file.
• Use other graphics software to generate the EMF file.
