Enable ArcCatalog to display CAD and raster file extensions

Summary

CAD and raster data can have a variety of file extensions such as DWG, DGN, TIF, SID and so forth. By default, these extensions are hidden in ArcCatalog. Enabling ArcCatalog to display file extensions will help distinguish the individual file formats.

Procedure

1. In ArcCatalog, select Tools > Options.
2. On the General tab, uncheck 'Hide file extensions'.
3. Click OK.
