Error Message

While using Batch Processing with the Shapefile to Coverage tool in ArcToolbox or ArcCatalog, the following error occurs: An error occurred while running the tool 'Shapefile to Coverage'. Unloading the tool.

Cause

This is a known issue.

Solution or Workaround

1. Save the contents of the tool to an AML.
   
   A. Click the 'Save to AML' button (button with disk icon).
   B. Specify a file name and save location.
   C. Click Save.
   
   
2. Click OK to execute the tool.
3. If an error occurs, close the tool and start it again from the ArcToolbox tree.
4. Open the Batch Grid and use the Load from AML button to reload the parameters from Step 1.
   
   A. Click the 'Open AML' button (button with a folder icon)
   B. Select the file you saved in step 1.
   C. Click Open.
   
   
5. Click OK to execute the tool.
