The following license information error may occur when trying to develop applications with the MapObjects Map control.
"License information for this component not found. You do not have an appropriate license to use this functionality in the design environment."
If the machine has more than one copy of the Mo20.OCX stored, only one copy can be listed in the operating system's registry. If an unlicensed copy of the Mo20.OCX is registered on the system, then the control cannot be used at design time in a development environment.
This error can also occur if other licensed components that are not MapObjects components are used without the license information properly registered.
Warning: The instructions below include making changes to essential parts of your operating system. It is recommended that you backup your operating system and files, including the registry, before proceeding. Consult with a qualified computer systems professional, if necessary. Esri cannot guarantee results from incorrect modifications while following these instructions; therefore, use caution and proceed at your own risk. The Mo20.OCX file must be registered, but it must also be in the same folder as the Mo20.LIC file. The Mo20.LIC file is needed to enable the use of the Mo20.OCX in the development environment. You do not need the Mo20.LIC file to run applications (.exe) that include MapObjects components. It is against your license agreement with ESRI to distribute the Mo20.LIC file to anyone else. Follow these steps:
If you cannot find these files, run the MapObjects setup executable again to install the components.
Restart a new session of your development environment (e.g., VB6) to access to the components.
